Tribal Participation in the Sun Dance

“Friday is almost always chosen as the day to build the lodge and then start the Sun Dance at the time of sunset. Many people come on that day to set up their camps for the duration of the Dance, so there is activity all over the camp as final preparations are made and more and more people come to share in prayers. Everyone in the camp circle can feel the power that is being generated through the Sun Dance Lodge.”
