Islam - The Malwiya minaret of the Great Mosque of Samarra
The Great Mosque of Samarra, Iraq, was completed in 852 C.E. It was once the largest in the Muslim world. The ramp of the single minaret (sometimes called the Malwiya Tower) spirals up to the top, which is 52 meters high.
