The Shah Mosque in Isfahan, (Masjed-e Shah in Persian) is also called the Imam Mosque. Construction of this Safavid-era mosque began in 1611 C.E. It is noted for its beautiful and extensive mosaic tiles and calligraphic inscriptions.
