Taktsang Monastery near Paro, Bhutan
The Lands of Buddhism - Taktsang ("Tiger's Lair") Monastery near Paro, Bhutan

Taktsang ("Tiger's Lair") Monastery near Paro, is probably the most famous site in Bhutan. It is particularly sacred because of its association with Guru Rinpoche, who is said to have landed there (in the form of Dorji Drolo), mounted on a flaming dakini-tigress, in 747 C.E., bringing Buddhism to Bhutan from Tibet.
